Two weeks in November

Updated: Dec 25, 2019

We, a Motley Crue of James Stokes, Rob Shadoan, Paul ‘Coach’ Kennedy and Lee Sutton, departed Beaufort, North Carolina on November 19, 2019 and arrived at Jost Van Dyke November 30, 2019. 11 days at sea and 1,500 nautical miles later, we were out of fuel! JK - that’s a line from the movie ‘Captain Ron’ We did arrive at Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar with just saltines and peanut butter. 15-20ft waves, good to heavy winds across the Gulf Stream for 3 days then gave us light air and some slow motoring. Winds pick back up from the SW gave us 50hours of rough ocean and upwind sailing. Then no wind again. Swimming in 25,000 feet of water was definitely a benefit of light air and calm seas. Last few days were decent breeze and we sighted Anegada at dawn and by 8am NOV 30 we could spy the splendid spread of the BVI’s

After some shore time at Foxy’s, we made our way to the Voyage Docks HQ on Tortola and some vessel maintenance and returned to NC on December 5.
